The marquee is the sign out front. On ours, everyone’s name fits.
Concerts and gallery openings, hockey nights and hall dances, markets, jams, fundraisers, and festivals — from the Centrium down to the church basement. The Marquee puts all of it up in lights, in one place.
Listings arrive from local sources — venues, ticket platforms, public calendars, community newsletters — plus an editor who gathers the gems that live on posters and in Facebook groups. Everything is checked and de-duplicated, so one event appears once, with a link that works.
Every organizer gets equal footing, free, forever. The Legion’s Wednesday dance and the Centrium concert render in the same card. The only thing for sale is clearly-labelled prominence, available to anyone.
Every listing shows when it was last checked and links to its source. Know something we should add? Tell us — there’s room on the board.
Red Deer Marquee is the first city edition of Alberta Current, the platform that gathers, checks, and publishes community events under each city’s own name. Same rules in every city: listing is free, prominence is labelled, and the pottery club renders next to the arena show.
